Over seven miles of walking and riding trails wind through the Portofino community. There are 14 bridges and elevated walkways, as well as access to the celebrated Mountains-to-Sea Trail, which stretches 1,000 miles from Clingman’s Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains to Jockey’s Ridge on the Outer Banks. Walking or riding these trails gives you the feeling of being in the wilderness of a mountain park, enjoying the peace and tranquility that only nature can provide.
Portofino is an Audubon International Signature Program member. Sustainable resource management practices are applied in the long-term stewardship of the property. Only a few communities in North Carolina have been certified under this Audubon program. Find out more about the program by following this link: Audubon International Signature Program.
