The Fair is coming! The Fair is coming!

It’s that time again when  State Fair Fever kicks in and to get the whole thing started the N.C. State Fair Hunter Jumper Show begins Wednesday, October 5TH through October 9TH. The competitions start at 8am each day in the Indoor Arena  and there are scheduled events in the Covered Arena and Ring II.

This is a great way to spend some time without having to spend a fortune, if you are interested in horses or just like being around them then get on over to the Hunt Complex at The State fairgrounds for the N.C. State Fair Hunter Jumper Show.

I like to walk through the stalls and see the different barns and how they have set up camp for the week. It is also an opportunity to see farrier’s at work, watch the horses being trained, check out the vendors who have all sorts of riding apparel and equipment on sale. Check out the artists who are there with their art works.

The N.C. State Fair Hunter Jumper Show is the per-cursor for the N.C. State Fair Horse Shows which runs October 11TH through the 29TH. This is where there the whole gamut of horse breeds are on display. There are paint, Palomino, Draft,Appaloosa, Miniature, Carriage Driving , Cowboy Mounted Shooting, Donkeys, Mules, you name it!!
